What are ISO codes?

Support products are classified according to their function. The classification consists of three hierarchical levels (Classes, Subclasses and Divisions). The codes consist of three pairs of digits in which each classification item of the International Standard ISO 9999 has an associated code.

This International Standard establishes a classification of support products, specially produced or generally available, for persons with disabilities. Any products are specially produced to prevent, compensate, monitor, alleviate or neutralize disabilities, limitations of activities and restrictions on participation of such persons.

This standard uses the terminology of the International Classification of Functioning (ICF), which is a classification of health and health-related domains. The classification of these domains is based on a Biopsychosocial perspective. Learn more... (PDF, 238 pp., 2.6MB)
